Feedback (first draft of The Disciples)

Our feedback was very pleasing as most of it was very positive. Here is what some of the feedback said.

1. Can the genre of the film be identified and how?
Many people could identify our film genre being a documentary by the opening which was very pleasing. However some people did say that they thought it was a mockumentary which it is almost bordering but people still knew it to be some sort of documentary which was good.

2. What went well?
Most of the feedback said that the editing was 'outstanding' and that the concept was very good. Also we were told many of our shots were good too.

3. Even better if?
Many people did not like our interview but that was because it was not filly edited. I now think that we are going to take it out of the film opening and put something else in instead.

4. Does the film present an adequate enigma?
Most of the feedback said yes

The average of the overall grade was between 40-50/60

Prelim - Peer Evaluation

The feedback that we were given has been concluded into a few small points about Pivotal for each title. All of the feedback has been useful as i can use it to strengthen my performance for the next task to make sure it is at a high standard.

Was the genre evident? How, what conventions did they use?
Genre was Thriller which was quite clear as it was quite dark scenery and was tense at times
Sometimes the genre looked like a horror as it seemed a little bit scary

Did they include all shots including dialogue, match on action and tracking? Which shot did you like best?
Most of the shot were used but not all of them. There should have been a few more close ups and the high shot didn't really look high enough. The best shot was the match on action as she opened the door and walked into the room as it was clear that it was a match on action and it was also well filmed. The close up of the 'meeting in progress' sign was clever too.

How did Camera, Editing, Sound, and Mise En Scene work together?
The editing was very good and very clever as there was a few effects on the clips. The strobe lighting at the end created a good effect. Some music could have been added and there was quite a lot of background noise which could have been edited out. Most of the camera shots were good but some were at an angle or not still which could have been done better.

Script and Story?
The story was confusing as it was not clear who the people were and what they were doing. It could have been clearer. The script was good but there could have been a little more dialogue as there was not a lot but the dialogue they had was good and well planned out.

The average score ranged from 30-40 out of an overall 50 which i was pleased with.
